Cadcentre Unleashes The Power Of Interactive Visualisation With Low Cost Plant Model Viewer

Review LE brings interactive walk-through of 3D process plant models to every desktop

Process plant design software specialist Cadcentre has brought the interactive visualisation of process plant models to the general desktop with the launch of Review LE, an easy to use, entry level plant viewing system. Available during the second quarter of 1999, Review LE has wide applications throughout an organisation, amongst both engineering and non-engineering staff alike.

Building on the success of Cadcentre’s pioneering Review Reality photorealistic plant model visualisation software, Review LE allows users to fly through and evaluate process plants created using Cadcentre’s PDMS (Plant Design Management System). No specialist training is required to operate Review LE; the plant is navigated by simply pointing and clicking to select an item.

Shown for the first time at the recently held DaratechPlant’99 process plant creation conference in Houston, Texas, Review LE astounded visitors, setting new industry standards for performance and accuracy. Running on a standard desktop PC, Review LE could navigate from a distant view of a process plant covering several square kilometres, right down to a single valve in a few seconds.

"Since its launch in 1987, our Review family of visualisation software has revolutionised the way many companies conduct their project reviews," said Crispin Gray, Cadcentre chief executive. "No one needs expensive scale plastic models any more, except, perhaps, to display in their reception areas. Review LE delivers interactive plant visualisation to the desktop for all staff across the enterprise."

Available initially on the Microsoft Windows NT operating system, Review LE’s simplicity and intuitive user interface means it can be self-taught in minutes. Views of the model are delivered to the user instantly, with total accuracy.

Review LE has applications throughout the life cycle of a plant, from supporting project tenders and conceptual design, through to detailed design progress reviews, fabrication and maintenance simulation, and even operator and safety training. The Review LE model data file is small enough to be sent via email, enabling users across the globe to share their ideas effectively.

"The unrivalled simplicity and accessibility of Review LE perfectly complements the advanced functionality of Review Reality," continued Gray. "A combination of the two systems offers a total enterprise-wide visualisation solution, flexible enough to meet the needs of the entire project team."
