It has introduced some innovative resources, such as a "Standards" section devoted to data and integration standards for plant design software and a "Case Histories" section presenting case histories highlighting improved plant design work practices.
Plant-Design.Com has also introduced an "Editors' Choice" award for Case Histories. The award acknowledges high returns on automation investment and superior quality in documenting results. The Editors' Choice award for August, 1999 went to Raytheon Engineers & Constructors, Houston, Texas. The case history documented a four to one return on Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews using the 3D plant model developed during design of a Citgo Refining and Chemicals, Inc., gasoline additive plant.
