A cornerstone of PlantSuccess '99 will be launching the Owner-Operator Forum, a new industry organization composed of senior managers from Air Products and Chemicals, Inc, BASF, The Dow Chemical Company, E I DuPont de Nemours and Company, and Merck & Co, which will focus on the needs of the owner/operator for plant lifecycle data. Trinity Technologies Corporation (www.trinitytechnologies.com), a respected industry consulting firm will introduce the organization Tuesday morning and follow with a workshop session. In essence, the goal of the Owner-Operator Forum is: to define a set of IT architectures and directions leveraging the PlantSTEP and STEP standards initiatives, form communications networks for vendors and support organizations, and sustain the architecture being adopted by both the user community (owner/operators and engineering and construction firms) as well as providers of software technology.

Management personnel from across the industry will learn as senior managers of the leading companies present the business drivers behind their efforts and their own measurements of success in applications that range from conceptual design through to plant operations and maintenance. PlantSuccess also will benefit the vendors of applicable computer hardware and application software, plus consulting and services for plant engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, operations and maintenance.

The conference format will include a welcome reception, daily luncheons and hospitality suites for the leading solutions providers. Charter Sponsors include AEA Technology Engineering Software, Bentley Systems Inc, Cadcentre, sgi, Trinity Technologies Corp and Visio Corporation.
