PlantSuccess Advance Registrations Exceed Projections
Philadelphia, September 16, 1999 - With ten days to go prior to the event, PlantSuccess conference organizer Carl Howk announced today that early registrations of attendees and advance commitments from sponsors for the first annual PlantSuccess Conference in Philadelphia have exceeded projections in every category. "The original goal was to have additional attendees in the range of 150 to 200; said by many to be highly unlikely, if not impossible for a first-time conference. We will meet that goal," says Howk. "The original goal was to recruit ten sponsors, we have twelve." Howk says also that attendee registrations are coming in from as far away as Australia, Belgium, Canada, England, Germany, Holland and Norway in addition to regional and national participants. The 12 leading companies that will sponsor PlantSuccess will follow the lead of charter sponsor Bentley Systems Inc. and include several companies trading on the NASDAQ: Aspen Technology Inc, FileNET Corp, Intergraph Corp, Silicon Graphics Inc. (sgi) and Visio Corp. Others include: Adaptive Media, AEA Technology, CADCENTRE, Icarus Corp, Rolta International and Trinity Technologies Corp. Jim Porter, DuPont's vice president of Engineering and Operations will deliver the inaugural Keynote Address on Monday morning. Speakers from 9 acknowledged leaders in the process and power markets including senior managers from: Air Products and Chemicals, Bayer Corp, Chevron, Duke Energy, Elf Atochem, Rohm and Haas, Solutia, and Unilever, will round out the educational program and contribute to the leadership focus of PlantSuccess. The Owner-Operator Forum to be launched at PlantSuccess will include representation from charter members Air Products, BASF, Dow Chemicals, DuPont and Merck. One senior executive from a major chemical company wrote: "A conference like PlantSuccess '99, with the program you have put together, is long overdue."
