MENSI Starts 3D Laser Scanning Service Provider Network

MENSI, Inc., a leading developer and supplier of 3-D laser scanning technology for as-built and real world data capture and modeling, will inaugurate its Service Partner Network at SIGGRAPH '99 being held in Los Angeles. MENSI, known for its pioneering work in perfecting 3-D data capture and modeling technology, announced the program in conjunction with a nationwide promotion helping those companies that require data capture and modeling services locate the right service provider to assisting them with their needs.

Members of the MENSI Service Partner Network represent a wide array of application disciplines serving a diverse cross-section of the 3D data capture and modeling marketplace including power and plant, mechanical engineering, historic preservation and cinematic special effects. Inaugural members include As Built Data, Inc. of Birmingham, Alabama, Blue Ridge Metrology, of Forest, Virginia, Integrated Design Solutions, of Portland, Oregon, Northstar Engineering, of Peublo, Colorado, Tolecayotl Studios, of San Francisco, California, Visual Precision, of Houston, Texas and Wink Incorporated, of New Orleans, Louisiana. Dedicated service firms with a strong regional or vertical market presence are invited to apply.

According to MENSI, Inc. CEO, Kenneth S. Shain, "This development is the result of listening very carefully to our customers, both the kind that use the products and the kind that benefit from the services they provide. Because we have the best products that offer the best solutions, I can say with complete confidence that not only do we make money for our partners, but we help our partners save their customers and clients money in the process. In this way, we can demonstrate a win-win-win record of performance that is at once cost-effective and profitable."

MENSI was originally founded in 1987 in Paris, France, where it established itself as a major force in the European marketplace. Its technology has been used extensively in the decommissioning of nuclear power plants and on major historic preservation projects. "Anywhere as-built or real world data capture was required, MENSI was there," claimed Mr. Shain. Customers include EDF, Dassault, Renault, Eurocopter, ELF, Shell Oil, Merck, Rhone Poulenc and The Louvre. In 1999, MENSI, Inc. was established in Norcross, Georgia, a high-tech suburb of Atlanta, to promote the sales and use of the company's product throughout the Americas.
