Meridian Project Systems and Bentley Integrate On-Line Project Management Solution

Philadelphia, PA, Bentley International User Conference - September 29, 1999 Meridian Project Systems (MPS), a leading provider of software and eBusiness solutions for the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction industry (AEC), announced today that Prolog Manager, the company's flagship product, has been integrated with ProjectWise from Bentley Systems, Incorporated (Exton, PA).

Prolog Manager serves as a hub to the construction process, managing the vast amount of data required to complete major construction projects. ProjectWise is a dynamic and secure engineering information management system that is tightly integrated with MicroStation, AutoCAD and common office applications. The ProjectWise Extranet interface facilitates global collaboration and secure information access using the Internet.

The integrated version of Prolog Manager, which is currently in beta test and will be released in November 1999, was demonstrated at the Bentley International User Conference. The integration of ProjectWise and Prolog Manager bridges the information flow between engineering and construction, thus enhancing project productivity and eliminating the problems associated with maintaining multiple copies of the same information in different systems. Project information from Prolog Manager can be easily "checked-in" into ProjectWise, making the information accessible to all project team members with proper authorization. In addition, Prolog Manager users can view information stored in ProjectWise directly from Prolog Manger, ensuring that users always access the correct version of an engineering model or document. All access is controlled through tight system security.

"Both Prolog Manager and ProjectWise have experienced stunning growth in their respective areas. Bringing these two applications together through tight integration delivers a level of value to the construction industry never before possible with traditional tools," said David Towert, CEO of MPS. "This integration advances Bentley's vision for advanced Project Engineering solutions that address the entire lifecycle of engineering projects."

"The theme of the 1999 Bentley International User Conference is "Projectivity" said George Church, president of WorkPlace System Solutions, the Bentley Strategic Affiliate that develops ProjectWise. "Projectivity is about improving the productivity of engineering projects and the integration of ProjectWise and Prolog Manager provides a single repository for all project information from design through construction, better enabling firms to compress project schedules and reduce costs" added Church.
