Meridian Project Systems Joins WelcomCONNECT Partnership Program
HOUSTON (October 19, 1999) - Welcom, a global leader in project and cost management software solutions, today announced that Meridian Project Systems, Inc. has joined the WelcomCONNECT Partnership Program. The strategic partnership creates a "best of breed" project management software solution for the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. "This newest WelcomCONNECT partnership is another example of our commitment to respond to customer demand by teaming with other experts to deliver the best possible solutions tailored for specific vertical market needs," said Tony Welsh, Welcom president and co-founder. "Meridian's Prolog Manager 5.1 is now fully-integrated with Welcom's Open Plan. The integration extends the capabilities of both project management systems and gives construction project managers options not available elsewhere, including the ability to tie a task schedule directly to a purchase item list." Welcom's Open Plan is an enterprise-wide project management system that substantially improves a company's ability to manage and complete multiple projects on time and within budget. The highly integrated, comprehensive software system is the most technically advanced client/server project management system on the market. Meridian's Prolog Manager 5.1 project management software is a comprehensive database application that streamlines and centralizes a number of design and construction processes including purchasing, cost controlling, engineering, superintending. It integrates with Microsoft Word and messaging applications, storing all pertinent documents and records in one database. John Bodrozic, Meridian president and co-founder, believes that Prolog Manager 5.1 and Welcom's Open Plan complement each other perfectly. "Prolog Manager 5.1 integrates with Open Plan via OLE technology, which creates a robust and user-friendly method of sharing database information between the two applications," he said. For example, Prolog Manager 5.1's unique Purchasing Module provides a list of procurement items for construction projects, while Open Plan plots the best dates to order them. The user can also create intelligent links between schedules in Open Plan and records in Prolog Manager 5.1, transferring data as needed. While Welcom and Meridian customers are the primary beneficiaries of the partnership, Meridian anticipates long-term benefits from entering into international markets where Welcom already has a strong presence. Versions of Open Plan and Prolog Manager 5.1, which mesh seamlessly, are now available from Welcom and Meridian.
