Bovis Selects Meridian's eBusiness Solution for Major AT&T Project

SACRAMENTO, Calif., December 6, 1999 -- Meridian Project Systems (MPS), a leading provider of software and eBusiness solutions for the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction industry (AEC), announced today Bovis Construction Corporation, one of the world's leading construction companies providing services for large-scale commercial, retail, infrastructure, education, and residential developments, has selected MPS to provide a total Internet-based project management solution for the AT&T OA Infrastructure Deployment project.

Bovis was contracted by AT&T Corporation, the world's premier provider of voice and data communications, to manage land acquisition, development, and construction of more than 400 project sites nationwide. The three-year project includes the development of facilities to support the AT&T's national fiber optic network.

MPS' eBusiness solution will be used to facilitate immediate communication on the latest project status from each site location via an Internet browser. MPS will aid in the development of a web-based map of the United States showing hundreds of active projects graphically. "The project map will allow AT&T executives to quickly review summary data for each of their projects and make critical decisions in real-time," said Troy Tyler, Manager of Consulting Services at MPS. "By accessing Prolog WebSite, executives and other AT&T Managers will better manage site development through real-time land acquisition, construction, and deployment information via their browser."

The Bovis and AT&T team will utilize the Meridian Project Pack and MPS' Consulting and Training services as a turnkey solution. Included in the Project Pack is Prolog Manager 5.0, which will function as the primary project management database to manage the 400 plus projects. Remote Bovis/AT&T users will be able to receive the latest project data by accessing Prolog WebSite. Prolog Executive will be used to manage the portfolio of projects, using query and report functions to produce executive level reports. The project will also link the Bovis/AT&T Microsoft Project schedule with Prolog Manager 5.0 to track the management of milestone dates.

"Bovis' deployment of MPS' eBusiness solution is at the cutting edge of Internet assisted construction management," said Al Marshall, Vice President of Marketing at MPS. "Never before could a project of such magnitude be managed with accurate real-time information accessible from any computer in the world with an Internet connection."
